User Account and Subscription

  • Subscriptions and Credits System

Ludo.ai's subscription plans are designed to fit a range of creative needs, from individuals to full studios. The platform uses a credit system that varies by plan:

    • Indie Plan: This plan provides a monthly allowance of 250 credits that can be used for all generative features on the platform.
    • Pro & Studio Plans: These plans offer a hybrid model. They include unlimited credits for core ideation, development, and asset generation. For more resource-intensive features, they provide a specific allotment of 1000 credits per month per user.

Unused credits automatically roll over to the next month, so you never lose the credits you've paid for. This allows you to save up for larger projects or resource-intensive tasks without worrying about your credits expiring at the end of each billing cycle. However, if you cancel your subscription, any remaining credits will expire at the end of your final billing period.

Pausing your subscription keeps your credits safe: they don't expire and remain available to use, though they won't renew while paused. Since unlimited generations are a benefit of an active subscription, all features use credits during a pause, including the ones that are unlimited on Pro and Studio plans. Credit top-ups are also unavailable while paused. Resuming your subscription restores everything immediately.

The table below provides a detailed breakdown of the credit cost for each action. The columns for the Indie and Pro plans show the approximate number of monthly uses available on each tier.

  • Account Creation and Management

To get started with Ludo.ai, create an account using your email address. You can then sign in with your password, with Google or Facebook, or with a magic link sent to your email.

Your account is managed from a window titled Account settings, which is organized into three tabs:

    • Profile: Update your First Name, Last Name, Company Name and Email Address, set your Default Genre and Default Platform under App preferences, and delete your account.
    • Sign-in & security: Manage how you sign in. This tab contains a Password section and a Two-factor authentication section. Two-factor authentication is covered in full in the next section of this page.
    • Billing: Manage your subscription and payment details. See the Billing and Invoices section below for what you can do there.

    Changing your password

Your password has its own form under the Sign-in & security tab, with its own Change password button. Changing your password takes effect on its own; it is no longer part of a profile-wide save.

When you change your password, every other session on your account is signed out: other browsers, other computers, anywhere else you were logged in. The browser tab where you made the change stays signed in, so you can keep working. If you suspect someone else has access to your account, changing your password is the fastest way to close their session.

    Email preferences

Every marketing email Ludo sends carries an Unsubscribe link in its footer, which is how you stop receiving them. Account and security emails, such as the two-factor notifications described below, are sent whatever your marketing preference, because they tell you about changes to your own account.

    Deleting your account

Deleting your account lives at the bottom of the Profile tab, under Danger zone. Select Delete account and confirm. This action cannot be reversed and removes all your data from the platform, so export anything you want to keep before you delete.

  • Two-Factor Authentication

Two-factor authentication adds a second step to your sign-in so a stolen password is not enough on its own. It is optional, and you turn it on yourself from the Sign-in & security tab of Account settings, in the Two-factor authentication section.

Ludo supports two kinds of second factor:

    • Authenticator app: a six-digit code from a TOTP app such as Google Authenticator, 1Password or Authy. Any authenticator app that generates time-based codes works.
    • Passkeys: your device's own unlock, such as Touch ID, Windows Hello, a security key, or a phone. You can register more than one passkey.

Two-factor authentication is on as soon as you have a confirmed authenticator app or at least one passkey. You can use either kind on its own, or both together. SMS and email codes are not supported.

    Setting up an authenticator app

    1. In the Sign-in & security tab, find the Authenticator app row and select Set up.
    2. A dialog titled Set up your authenticator app shows a QR code. Scan it with your authenticator app. If you cannot scan it, the same secret is shown as a key you can type in, with a Copy key button.
    3. Enter the six-digit code from your app and press Turn on.
    4. Your recovery codes appear. Save them before you close the dialog; see below.

    Adding a passkey

    1. In the Passkeys row, select Add passkey.
    2. Name it first, in the Name this passkey dialog. Give it a name you will recognise later, such as "MacBook Touch ID" or "YubiKey". Names can be up to 64 characters.
    3. Your browser or operating system then runs its own prompt to create the passkey.
    4. If this is the first factor on your account, your recovery codes appear.

The passkey list shows each passkey's name, when it was added, and when it was last used, so you can tell your devices apart later.

    Recovery codes

When you turn on your first factor, Ludo issues ten recovery codes. Each code signs you in once if you lose your authenticator app or passkey. The codes use an alphabet that leaves out easily confused letters, so what you write down is what you type back in.

They are shown exactly once. The dialog stays open until you press I've saved them, and it offers a Copy codes button and a Download button, which saves them as ludo-recovery-codes.txt. Store them somewhere safe that is not the device your other factors live on.

    Over time:

    • The Recovery codes row shows how many codes you have left, and warns you when you are running low.
    • Regenerate codes replaces the whole set at once. The old codes stop working immediately; the confirmation says so before it happens.
    • Adding a second factor does not issue new codes. If you add a passkey to an account that already has an authenticator app, your existing codes still apply, and the screen says so. Nothing has gone wrong.
    • Using a recovery code sends you an email saying a code was used and how many remain.

    Confirming changes

Once two-factor authentication is on, any change to it asks for one proof first: adding another factor, removing a passkey, regenerating codes, or turning it off. The prompt offers Use your passkey when one is registered, a six-digit authenticator code, or a recovery code. This is so someone who got into your open session cannot quietly change how you sign in.

    Signing in with it on

The second step applies to every way of signing in: password, Google, Facebook, and magic link.

    • If you have a passkey, the passkey prompt starts automatically, once. If you dismiss it, use the Try your passkey again button; it never re-prompts on its own.
    • Otherwise, enter the six-digit code from your authenticator app, or switch to entering a recovery code.
    • If your only factor is a passkey, you are offered the passkey and recovery codes; there is no six-digit field to fill.

The sign-in step expires after a few minutes, after which you start the sign-in again. Entering wrong codes repeatedly locks two-factor attempts on the account for a short while, and Ludo emails you that this happened.

    Turning it off

Turn off two-factor auth is at the bottom of the section, behind a confirmation that a password alone will then be enough to sign in. Removing your last passkey when you have no authenticator app turns two-factor authentication off entirely; the confirmation says so before asking for your proof.

Turning two-factor authentication on, turning it off, and removing the last factor each sign out your other sessions. The tab you are working in stays signed in. Ludo also emails you when two-factor authentication is enabled or disabled, when a recovery code is used, and when sign-in attempts are temporarily locked.

If you lose access to everything

A recovery code signs you in once, and you have ten of them, so a lost phone or a wiped laptop is a nuisance rather than a lockout, provided the codes are stored somewhere else. While you are signed in, you can regenerate a fresh set at any time from the Two-factor authentication section.

If you have lost every factor and every recovery code, contact [email protected] and we will help you get back into your account. It is still worth keeping your recovery codes somewhere safe, separate from the devices they protect, because a code you saved gets you in straight away.

  • Language Support

Currently, Ludo.ai's interface and generated content are available in English. This includes all user interface elements, tooltips, generated game concepts, descriptions, and AI-assisted conversations. All user inputs and prompts are also expected to be in English. While inputs in other languages can work to some extent, the best performance and quality of results will always be achieved by providing inputs or prompts with clearly written English.

While English is our primary language, we recognize the global nature of game development and the diverse needs of our user base, and are working towards wider language support. In the meantime, we offer the following suggestions for non-native English speakers:

    1. Use browser translation tools for navigating the interface if needed.
    2. Remember that while the output is in English, you can always adapt and translate the generated concepts for your specific language needs.

  • Credits Top-Up

Running low on Credits before your monthly refresh? No problem. Ludo.ai offers flexible Credit Top-Ups so you can keep creating without interruption. When you purchase a Top-Up, you'll receive additional Credits immediately, allowing you to continue using all of Ludo's features—from generating game ideas and characters to creating playable prototypes, videos, and sprite animations.

Top-Ups work differently depending on your plan type. If you're on a monthly plan, purchasing a Top-Up will charge you your standard monthly rate and restart your entire billing cycle, giving you a fresh allotment of Credits right away. For annual plan subscribers, a Top-Up charges just 1/12th of your annual rate without affecting your yearly renewal date, making it an economical way to get more Credits when you need them. Whether you're in the middle of an intense creative sprint or just want to experiment more freely, Top-Ups ensure you're never stuck waiting for your next billing cycle to continue bringing your game ideas to life.

  • Refund Policy

At Ludo.ai, we stand by the quality and value of our generative AI tools. While our products are digital and delivered instantly, we offer specific conditions under which you may be eligible for a refund.

    • Annual plans may be refunded within 30 days of purchase and before 250 credits are used (1,000 credits on Pro or Studio). The refund is the total paid minus a charge equivalent to one month at the applicable monthly rate. Once either limit is passed, the purchase is final.
    • Monthly plans are non-refundable, but you can cancel at any time.
    • As an AI tool, output quality may vary and refunds cannot be issued for results that don't meet expectations.
    • One-time credit purchases, including top-ups and automatic top-ups, are non-refundable once the credits have been added to your account.
    • Unused credits roll over while your subscription is active, and stay usable for 30 days after it ends.

The full refund policy can be read here.

    How to Request a Refund

Submit your request to [email protected] and include your account name, order number or purchase date, and a detailed explanation of why you believe you meet the eligibility requirements. Our team will review your request and respond within 5 business days. Approved refunds will be processed within 10 business days and credited to your original payment method.

Ludo.ai reserves the right to deny any refund request that does not meet these terms or stems from violations of our Terms of Service.
