For the Indie plan, unused credits roll over from month to month. You will receive a additional set of 300 credits each month. In the Studio plan, you have unlimited credits and do not need to worry about rollovers.

Yes, you can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time from your account settings. If you upgrade, the changes will be effective immediately, and if you downgrade, the changes will take effect at the start of the next billing cycle.

Daily Trends is a tool where you can see trending/popular topics and games from multiple app stores, filtered by regions and game genres. Daily Trends aggregates similar games in Game Topics, making it easier for you to browse game trends without having to scroll through hundreds or thousands of games.

What is Daily Trends?

The Daily Trends feature keeps you updated with the latest trends and developments in the gaming and creative industries. By highlighting emerging themes and popular concepts, it helps you stay ahead of the curve and incorporate relevant elements into your ideas.

What is Daily Trends used for?

Start by selecting if you want to see the trends for top charts ("Charts") or trends for new releases ("New releases").

Then, narrow down by selecting the app store, game genre, and location of the charts (for "Charts" trends only).

You can then select if you want to see game topics or individual games ("Show Trending: Topics/Games").

Finally, if you selected "Topics", you can choose one criteria to sort the list of topics. For example, “Exponential Growth” shows game topics that are rapidly increasing in number of new players daily, while “Most Top-Chart Games” indicates the game topics that have the largest number of games in the Top 200 Overall.

How do I start using the Daily Trends tool?

A game topic is simply a group of games that share similarities. Aggregating similar games makes it easier for you to browse game trends without having to scroll through hundreds or thousands of games. Game Topics are automatically created by Ludo.ai’s AI powered game aggregation algorithm. Games can be considered similar if they have similar mechanics, themes, art styles, sub-genre, screenshots, among others.

What is a Game Topic?

If you want to search for Game Topics or trending games related to some query, you can use the search bar in the Daily Trends tool. 
Select the Charts or New Releases tab, and type in a search term or use keywords you’re looking for. As you begin typing in your words, the drop-down menu will show you any related game titles that have your words in them. You can either select some existing games or type in your own keywords or search phrases.

How to use the search in Daily Trends?

"Charts" trends shows you games and game topics that are trending according to their performance in the top charts. They are useful to understand established game trends, according to user preferences.

"New releases" trends shows you recently released games, and game topics that are growing in number of new releases. They are useful to identify game topics that are gaining popularity among game developers and publishers.

What is the difference between "Charts" trends and "New Releases" trends?

The Favorites page is an area of the Ludo.ai app that stores the items you’ve saved. These items could be game ideas, images, elements, or reference games you’ve searched for and found.

These elements are saved to Favorites so you can easily find them again in one place without losing any of your work progress.

What is the Favorites page?

As you start browsing Ludo.ai and use the Image Generation, Game Ideator, and Research tools, you can click the Favorite or “heart” icon to save your creations or search results.

Depending on which item you click Favorite, they appear on your Favorites page tab. They will be sorted into the following categories: Game Ideas, Game Elements, Games, and Images.

How do I start using the Favorites tool?

Click the Favorite or “heart” icon to save your AI-powered creations, ideas, elements, and images. You can also save games from your search results that you wish to track or use as reference games.

Then visit the Favorites page tab from your Ludo.ai navigation menu to access everything you saved.

How do I add items to my Favorites?

Now that you have your saved items stored on your Favorites page, you can choose which one you want to be added to a Game Concept project.

You can either create a new Game Concept out of your saved item or add to an existing Game Concept you’ve already been working on.

What can I do with my Favorited items?

What is the Game Concept tool?

1 - If you want to start a new Game Design Document from scratch, press the purple plus sign (+) on the top menu bar to start a new blank document.

2 - Once you’ve started a brand new document, start by giving it a title, and write a brief description of your game idea.

3 - You are then free to add whatever sections you want to your document using the blinking Plus button in the document. You can either write the sections yourself, or use Ludo's AI suggestions (see the question below for more).

4 - To add an icon and a header image to your game concept, click on the icon placeholder or the header at the top of the document to see the available options. You can use any images you might have saved previously, upload any images, or generate new images on the fly using Ludo's suggestions or the Image Generator.

How do I start a new Game Concept?

If you don't yet have a good idea for your new game, you might want to start in the Game Ideator tool instead. Generate new game ideas in the Game Ideator, and when you see one that you like, you will have the option to start a new Game Concept document based on it, which can provide you a better starting point.

Do I always have to start a Game Concept from scratch?

1 - Click "Add Section", the purple plus sign in the document.

2 - Choose the section you wish to add on the right sidebar (ex: Mechanics).

3 - You will now see two options in the section: Suggestions and Generate New. "Suggestions" will let Ludo AI suggest some elements based only on the content already present in the document. "Generate New" is similar, but you have the option of providing some hints. Ludo AI will try to generate something that is related to your inputs (ex: swipe).

How do I add more game elements to my Document?

"Ask Ludo" is a feature that allows you to engage in interactive conversations with an AI. You can discuss your initial concepts, get feedback, and refine your ideas through these conversations. Ludo AI provides valuable insights, suggests improvements, and helps you shape your ideas into more refined concepts.

You can ask something about your game concept as a hole by clicking on Ask Ludo at the top of the Game Concept. Or ask some questions about specific document sections or game elements, by clicking on the Ask Ludo buttons available in those contexts.

What is "Ask Ludo" and how does it help in refining ideas?

Start by clicking “Add Section” (the purple plus sign).

Then choose “Image Gallery” under "Standard Sections" at the bottom.

There are a number of ways you can add an Image to your Game Concept:

How do I add/generate images into my Game Concept?

Start by clicking “Add Section” (the purple plus sign).

Then choose “Games” under "Standard Sections" at the bottom.

Here are the following ways you can add an existing game to your Game Concept to be used as a reference:

1 - Click “Suggestions” to let Ludo.ai suggest a reference Game for you based on the content of your existing document.

2 - Find a saved Game in your Favorites folder. This is assuming you’ve already been saving games from Top Charts, Trends, or Search tools.

3 - Use Top Charts to find a game that is currently being played the most based on the game store you choose (Steam, Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and more).

4 - Use Trends to search for currently trending or popular games. You can filter by store, location, and genre.

5 - Use Search to search for games across Ludo's entire game database. You can provide some keywords or search phrases, and use filters to narrow down the results.

6 - If you already know the game you want to add, just type in the game title in the box and select it in the dropdown.

How do I add existing similar games to my document to use as references?

To export your Game Concept document, click on the share button in the top right of your document. You will have the options of exporting to PDF or sharing in Slack (Studio subscriptions only).

How do I export the Game Concept document?

You can start generating an idea for a game by inputting your keywords, phrases, or game titles in the Game Ideator text input box. You should also specify the platform you are targeting in the filters, and eventually one or more game genres.

By default, Ludo will generate concept art for the generated game ideas. If you want these images to follow a specific art style, make sure to choose it in the filters.

Have fun, experiment, and remember to save the results you like to your "Favorites" by clicking "Add To Favorites" on the top right of a game idea. If you want to start a game concept document based on a game idea, click on “Select this idea”. More on this in the question below.

How do I start using the Game Ideator tool?

If you like one of the generated game ideas and want to take it further, click on "Select this idea" to start the process of creating a new game concept based on the idea. In the Game Concept tool, we offer all the necessary tools to take this idea to a fully formed game design document.

You have the option of starting with just the text and title of the idea (plus some generated images) by clicking on "Default". Or If you want to start with a more complete Game Concept, choose one of the available templates. In this case, the game concept will start with the text and title of the idea, plus the sections that you selected, automatically filled with suggestions from Ludo AI.

How can I take a Game Idea to the next step?

The Game Ideator is a tool that assists you in fleshing out your game ideas. It guides you through various aspects of game design such as gameplay mechanics, characters, settings, and more. By providing prompts and suggestions, it ensures your ideas are comprehensive and well-developed.

How does the Game Ideator feature contribute to the ideation process?

These modes affect the game ideas that are generated in the Game Ideator.

Regular Mode: Ludo.ai will stick to the keywords, phrases, or game titles you are inputting or referencing to come up with your new game idea.

Trendy Mode: Ludo.ai will combine your prompts with the latest trending games in a randomized format to come up with your new game idea.

Ludicrous Mode: Ludo.ai will combine your prompts with random, outside-the-box concepts to generate an unexpected game idea.

What are the Regular / Trendy / Ludicrous modes?

If you use a very mixed set of inputs (incompatible or unrelated to one another), it might happen that the generated results are related to only part of your inputs and ignore others.

Some of the things you can try if this happens:

1 - Make sure you have the Regular Mode selected.

2 - Try reducing the number of inputs if you have multiple. If you are using multiple existing games, avoid selecting more than two. If you are using multiple keyphrases, try reducing the number of them (three to five at most).

3 - Make sure your keyphrases are well written, clear, and unambiguous. Avoid acronyms or abbreviations. If you are selecting games for the input, you might want to try different ones.

The generated ideas seem to be ignoring some of my inputs, what can I do?

First, select which type of image you want to create: Concept art, gameplay examples, icons or headers (feature graphics).

Then, input keywords, phrases, or game titles in the input box.

How do I start using the Image Generator tool?

The Image Generator is a tool that generates visual representations based on your descriptions and concepts. It helps you visualize your ideas, making them more tangible and inspiring. These generated images can be used as references or mood boards during the development phase.

How can the Image Generator enhance my ideation process?

Genres: Follow the style of the given game genre(s). Especially relevant for Gameplay mode.

Colors: Choose the main colors you want to see in the generated image. You can also type in any other more specific colors in the main input box (using a common English color name).

Art Style: Follow the selected art style.

Aspect Ratio: The aspect ratio of the generated images. The Icon and Header modes will ignore this selection.

Creative Mode: Enable this option if you want to get more varied and creative outputs. Behind the scenes, Ludo will automatically generate additional prompts based on your inputs, resulting in a much larger output variety. The relevance of the results may also vary though, so experimentation is key.

What do the different filters do?

Yes. Click the “Choose initial image” button and you can select any image from your device or your favorites to let Ludo.ai use as a reference image.

Ludo.ai will then use your source image to generate something similar that resembles the image you uploaded. You should also provide an input describing what you want to see in the final image. For example, if you upload an image of a dinosaur, you could type in "dinosaur catching balls".

You can control what to retain from the original image:
- Details: Keep the main image edges (including fine details)
- Composition: Keep the overall composition (depth map)
- Color: Keep the colors of original image.
- Image strength: Control the influence of the original image. Higher values will result in images that are closer to the original.

As always, exploration and experimentation are key to getting the results you want.

Can I use a reference image to generate an image?

Yes. If you want to improve or modify one of the generated images, click on the edit button "Generate Similar Images" in the top right of an image (on hover).

New images will be generated that are based on that initial one. You can control how to modify the original image by changing the text input or any of the filters. You can also decide what you want to retain from the original image, and how closely you want to stick to it. See the question above for further details on what these options do.

Can I edit or improve a generated image?

Market Analysis is a comprehensive research tool that finds games related to your game topic or idea and provides a detailed breakdown through many different statistics, allowing you to understand the dynamics of that game topic over time.

The stats are broken down into:

1 - Topic / Keywords / Genre (which highest-ranked games belong in this category)

2 - Long-term popularity: Compares the success of the game topic against other topics in general in terms of new players.

3 - Short-term trend: Measures the popularity of the game in the last week, and compares it with other topics or games in general.

4 - Market accessibility: This measures the percentage of games in the topic that have reached the Top 500 overall most played games over the past year.

5 - Game topic age: Measures how long ago the games in this topic have been released, on average. This can indicate whether the game topic is fairly recent, or if the games have been around for a long time.

6 - Originality: Measures how unique the game topic is, in the sense of how many similar existing games are already out there.

What is Market Analysis?

Market Analysis is used as a research tool to gain insights into specific statistics and metrics of your desired chosen game topic.

The Market Analysis feature helps you evaluate the feasibility of your ideas by providing insights into current market trends, player preferences, and potential target audiences. This information aids in making informed decisions and refining your concepts to align with market demands.

What is Market Analysis used for?

Type in a search term or use the keywords you’re looking for and click Add to Analysis. Ludo will create a game topic by finding existing games that are related to your search terms. You can see the created topic on the left in the topic list below the search bar. You will see the main keywords that define that topic, as well as the list of games that are part of it and some essential statistics.

If you find that the created topic is too narrow (very few games), you can change the mode to "Wide" and try again. Conversely, if you think the created topic is to broad (too many games), change the mode to "Narrow" and try again.

You can add up to five topics for comparison.

How do I start using the Market Analysis tool?

Ludo.ai’s Search tool is a unique feature that allows you to search for and browse millions of game titles to be used for inspiration, reference, conceptualization, and more. You can search for anything: games, game icons, and game screenshots. 

Ludo.ai Search is the ultimate tool to look for games and their resources, without needing to sift through the many irrelevant or unrelated results that Google, Bing, or other search engines might give you. And we provide an extensive list of filters that you can use to further narrow down your search.

What is Search?

Just like a search engine search bar, all you have to do is input any text phrase, game title, keyword, topic, or genre of game you’d like to search for and press the “Search” button. You can even upload game images or movies to start your search.

You’ll be shown results from potential Games, Icons, and Screenshots results. You can choose to narrow your search results only to Games, Icons, or Screenshots.

How do I start using the Search tool?

Feeling inspired? You can start generating a brand new Game Idea by clicking on the three dots menu and clicking “Generate based on this game”, or clicking the pencil icon to “Generate similar images” or “Generate similar icons”. You will open up the Game Ideator page or Image Generator page by doing so.

Found a particular game you want to narrow down and focus your search results on? Click on the three dots menu and click “Search similar” to find more games based on this result.

Don't forget you can click Favorite on your chosen games, icons, or screenshots to be saved for reference later or you can add it directly to a Game Concept project you’re already working on.

What can I do with these search results?

Genres: Filter the results by game genre(s).

Platform: Filter by platform.

Stores: Filter by the store in which the game is published.

Release date: Filter by how long ago the game was initially released.

Graphic style: Filter by the graphic style of the game.

What do the available filters do?

Top Charts Blender is a tool that allows you to take top trending games, select them from their charts, and use them to blend them into brand-new game concept ideas.

This allows for some truly unique combinations and removes the head-scratching brainstorming work of trying to come up with your own concept - saving you time and effort!

What is Top Charts Blender?

1 - Firstly, load up the top charts by choosing which store, country, and genre you wish to choose your games from.

2 - Then select the game you want from the top charts lists. Click on "Add to Ideator" (the lightbulb button next to the game title). Once you’ve selected a game, the Game Ideator tab will pop open. This pop-up tab is basically a miniature version of the Game Ideator feature, only now it can be used directly in the Top Charts Blender page to blend games.

3 - Optionally, choose more games to add to your Game Ideator. Use the same process as described in (2). We don't have hard limits, but blending from 1 to 3 games typically works best.

4 - Finally, click “Start New Generation” to blend your games into a brand-new idea! Save the ideas you like by adding to your Favorites, or take them to the next level by clicking on "Select this idea", which will start a new game concept document based on it.

Remember to experiment and be as creative as you want to come up with unique results! Try removing games from the input list and replacing them with new ones.
